Day three of our blog series ‘A week in the life of’. We are joining Alanis, who is a Business Admin Apprentice at Optimum Skills, coming from our Newton Aycliffe Traineeship programme. This morning Alanis attended a meeting with Client Relationship Manager Sarah and trainee Dean at Abyte in Bishop Auckland. Dean, who is currently on our traineeship programme in Newton Aycliffe, will be completing his work experience with Abyte as he is interested in pursuing a career in IT. Alanis attended to shadow Sarah and talk about her own experience with her traineeship and apprenticeship.
Alanis often buddies up with our Customer Service apprentice Chloe, who has been with the company for 9 months now. Chloe supports Alanis in the new tasks she has to undertake as Chloe has built up a lot of knowledge about the company in her time with Optimum Skills.
As Alanis is seated in the reception area of the office, it is up to her to ensure that all visitors and learners sign in and out of the office.
If you were to call the Optimum Skills office, Alanis may be your first point of contact. Alanis has the main responsibility of taking any incoming phone calls to the office, she then passes on the call to the correct person or takes a message if someone is not available to take the call at that time.
Check back tomorrow to find out what Alanis is doing on Thursday! Click here to read yesterdays blog.
